Your doctor may prescribe Aranesp or Procrit to build up their red blood cells. This is usually on a weekly basis. I'm surprised they have not already offered. In some sense weakness and fatigue, radiation related .... Only one of these side effects can hardly do than wait for treatment. Most patients recover well.

I'm sorry, your mother is ill with cancer.

No doctor is allowed to say.
and
Not in any medical book.
But,
You can try these three additions at your own risk, are in some stores of vitamins available:

Selenium
NAC
Glutathione (sublingual)

If you will increase levels of glutathione increased tolerance of chemotherapy.

In my opinion, more modest,

GOOD LUCK!

Take advantage of many antioxidants such as polyphenols, which contain
Essaic
Vitamin C and E
Selenium
Astragalus (Chinese herbs)
Q10 and shark cartilage (blocks cancer cells, lined)
even some Chinese herbs and mushrooms such as maitake and reishi are good

Ask your doctor Procrit. It helps cancer patients very much. If low blood levels drop, sometimes with blood transfusions. That also helps.

I say a prayer for his mother.
